Over 5 ¾ tons in 2008 of surplus and/or outdated food is picked up and delivered per week. Who do you deliver to? Over 70 different local food services, food pantries and emergency food programs for free food distribution to feed the hungry in our community. Who donates food? In 2008 over 95 different donors provided food to Heart of Illinois Harvest in 2007 – 36 of those donors on a weekly basis. How many volunteers do you have? Over 70 volunteers keep Heart of Illinois Harvest running. How does Heart of Illinois Harvest operate? We are entirely supported by grants, donations, and in-kind services.
